How Gutter Cap Works
Gutter Cap is a retro fit system (doesn't require replacing the gutters) which covers the gutter system.
Gutter Cap's patented design incorporates the principle of water surface tension in which rainwater adheres to the dome of the cap while leaves and debris fall off the roof. Most of the debris is blown off by the wind. The remainder of debris is pushed off by the rain, while the water flows into the gutters. The existing gutters become a free-flowing roof drainage system, eliminating the hassle and danger of cleaning gutters, and preventing thousands of dollars in damage each year.
The Gutter Cap AdvantageThe Gutter Cap design is a more effective solution than traditional screens and vinyl caps. Screens quickly clog with small twigs and leaves and are prone to caving in from ice and snow. Screens commonly fall out of the gutter system.
Vinyl covers warp, crack, and clog in the vertical channels. Squirrels can easily chew through the vinyl to create a home in the gutter system.
Gutter Cap is made from an X-10 metal alloy with no vertical openings to clog, and has an edge over other metal systems by its patented no-clog channeling system.
Gutter Cap can be installed on most roofs including flat, metal, slate, cedar shake, and under proper conditions half barrel ceramic tiles. Gutter Cap does not fasten with clips or brackets and can be installed over existing gutters. It can even be re-installed if you need a new roof.
Gutter protection should be almost invisible on your home. Gutter Cap achieves this objective by its low profile mount, and several choices of colors and finishes. Gutter Cap is available with Stone Coat roof granule finish, Premium with Kynar 500 finish, or the economical Standard baked-on enamel finish.
Gutter Cap has one of the most comprehensive warranties available..
Gutter Roof is a type of metal domed system. There is a considerable amount of consumer awareness that metal dome systems work the best for leaves and other organic debris. The concept is simple. Debris falls on to the cover, where most of it blows off with the wind. The remainder is rinsed off with the rain. Typically, the debris falls off at the nose portion of the gutter protection, while the water through the process of surface tension, follows the rounded contour of the nose and falls off when it reaches the straight edge in the trough system.
Most metal dome systems are constructed of .019 gauge aluminum which is not strong enough to support the panels. Gutter Roof is constructed from .025 gauge aluminum alloy which dramatically increases the durability of the panels. We have discovered that a 7” slot in the trough is the most effective size to allow incidental debris to be flushed through the gutter system, yet still supply adequate support to guard against warping and collapsing of panels.
The finish has always been an issue. Baked-on enamel finish (still used by the majority of the metal dome systems) eventually fades during the summer with being up on the roof and exposed to the hot sun. Dirt and tree resin forms a crust which not only makes the system unsightly and noticeable, but affects the overall performance. Organic debris sticks to the crust and gets washed into the trough system and causes clogs. Some homeowners complain about the noticeable contrast from the smooth baked-on enamel finish of the gutter protection and the gritty texture of the roof.
Gutter Roof’s coating of roofing granules solves the issues associated with the esthetics of other products. Gutter Roof blends in with the roof much more effectively than the other finishes and will not develop the crusting associated with most metal dome systems.
The roofing granules enhance the process of surface tension due to slowing down the water on the rough surface and additional surface area. We have yet to see another system which water adheres to better than our new finish. Consequently rain water flyover will be greatly minimized.
How does Heater Cap work? Heater Cap is a heating system that gently heats the ice and snow coming off of your roof. The system uses a combination of heat disbursement panels and self regulating heating cable. The heating panels melt the ice and snow while a relay of heating cables keep the water melted and flowing through the gutters and down spouts. Heater Cap is safely hardwired into a circuit breaker to be turned on and off when needed. Heater Cap can be installed on the roof, in the gutters and down spouts or on top of gutter guards. In some cases it may be applied to underground draining systems
.Why should I choose Heater Cap over other ice melting products?Heater Cap is more effective than heat tapes and wires because it melts a larger area of ice and snow. Heater Cap is also safer because the self regulating heat cable doesn't get hot enough to start a fire and is properly grounded to avoid sparking, and is hard wired into the home. Also, Heater Cap is less visible then the zigzag configuration of heat wires and tapes.
How much will the cost be to install Heater Cap on my home? The expense is determined by the amount of footage. Usually the treated areas are just the walkways. The cable has to travel up roof valleys, on gutter covers (if present), in the gutters, down the down spouts, and into drain tiles if present. There is a separate expense for the electrical hook up to the circuit breaker.
How much does it cost to operate Heater Cap?Heater Cap draws the equivalent of having a hair dryer on. The amount of energy used will be determined by the length of heating cable and the outside temperature. The longer the run of cable, and the colder the outside temperature, the more it will cost to operate. Typically, the electric bills during the winter months can be $.50 to $2.50 more per day.
Can I just have a plug-in arrangement?Heater Cap should always be hard wired into the circuit breaker on a separate circuit in order to function properly and safely.
How does Heater Cap melt the large amounts of snow and ice coming down the roof valleys?Roof valleys require a proactive stance. The cable and panels will be doubled up and mounted in the roof valleys (areas where two or more sections of roof join) to melt the ice and snow. Otherwise, the massive amount of ice and snow would overwhelm the system.
What can I do to save on energy costs with the Heater Cap system?
The need to melt the ice on your roof requires two conditions; proper melting temperatures and the presence of moisture. The system doesn't need to be on when it's bitterly cold as there is no melting going on the roof. It doesn't need to be on if there is no ice or snow on the roof. Hence you can turn the system on and off. In those cases, we recommend a light LED switch going into your circuit box to alert you if it is on or not. This requires some discipline. We recommend installing a temperature - moisture sensor to turn the system on and off. It is a simpler solution and will save energy in the long term.
Aluminum Capping and cladding works.
To cap a window or a garage door is not a complicated job. Any window contractor can do it. But when it comes to turn the normal aluminum work into the art - professionals are needed!
Eavestrough/Soffit/Fascia
When it comes to aluminum soffit we are the right
people for business! We don't do standard gable flat fascia (unless homeowner requests). Crown molding aluminum and double rib bends became our unique features in that trade.
Siding
The Purpose Of Exterior Siding
Aesthetically, what is on the exterior of your house creates the first and often lasting impression of your home. Functionally, the siding material protects your house's structure from the elements, mainly rain and wind driven moisture. Siding should be selected based on cost, aesthetics, durability, maintenance requirements, and environmental impact.
